Mirzapur The Movie crosses Rs 211 crore India net on Day 17

Seventeen days into its theatrical run, Mirzapur: The Movie is now in the tail phase of its box office cycle. The big-screen adaptation of the Mirzapur web series has reached Rs 211.47 crore in India net collections as of Day 17, according to Sacnilk figures cited by The Times of India. India gross stood at Rs 251.85 crore for the same period.

Day 17 pace

On Day 17, the film was running across 1,647 shows in India and had collected Rs 0.77 crore net at the time of the live update. That number was expected to move higher as the day progressed, but the early read points to a third Sunday that is collecting steadily rather than spiking.

By Day 16, overseas collections had reached Rs 51.25 crore, pushing the worldwide gross to Rs 302.19 crore. Day 17 overseas numbers were not yet reported.

  • Week 1 India net: Rs 148.45 crore
  • Week 2 India net: Rs 55 crore
  • Day 15: Rs 2.75 crore
  • Day 16: Rs 4.50 crore
  • Day 17 live: Rs 0.77 crore

What the hold means

For distribution and exhibition teams, the third-weekend trajectory is the useful signal. The film dropped from Rs 148.45 crore in week one to Rs 55 crore in week two, a decline of about 63%. The Day 16 figure of Rs 4.50 crore suggested a weekend bounce, but the Day 17 start shows the title is now in a more modest collection band.

That pattern matters because the film is a test case for converting streaming IP into theatrical value. If it clears Rs 255 crore in India gross, as the early live tracking suggests it is positioned to do, it strengthens the argument for more web-series adaptations getting wide theatrical windows.

Adaptation and cast changes

The film, directed by Gurmeet Singh, released theatrically on September 4, 2026. It made visible changes from the series, with Jitendra Kumar stepping in as Bablu Pandit and Ravi Kishan joining as Babban Babua. For marketing teams, those casting shifts were part of the pitch: a familiar franchise, with a reworked screen canon.

For screen business teams

Media planners and entertainment marketers should read these numbers as a hold-curve, not a single-day total. The opening week delivered Rs 148.45 crore, so the film recovered strongly from the fan base. The challenge now is the long tail: with the third Sunday starting at under Rs 1 crore, the incremental domestic upside is limited unless the evening shows add heavily.

For OTT platforms and producers, the box office performance is a reference point for valuing a known web IP. A big-screen adaptation can pull a large opening, but the third-week hold determines whether it behaves like an event film or a fan screening. The global gross of Rs 302.19 crore by Day 16 also shows the overseas contribution is meaningful but still secondary to the India number.
