Rajkummar Rao’s legal biopic kept moving on day 10, but the uptick is modest. The film added Rs 1.20 crore in India net collections on Sunday, a 4.3% improvement over Saturday, while worldwide gross reached Rs 26.78 crore, per Sacnilk figures carried in the report.
The Sunday number
Sunday’s business came from 1,055 screenings. The India net total now stands at Rs 20.10 crore; the domestic gross is Rs 23.93 crore. Overseas added just Rs 0.10 crore on Sunday, taking the international gross total to Rs 2.85 crore.
Second-weekend recovery, not a turnaround
The weekend climbed from Rs 60 lakh on Friday to Rs 1.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.20 crore on Sunday, putting the second-weekend total at Rs 2.95 crore. The direction is right, but the scale is smaller than the first week’s daily run.
The opening week closed at Rs 17.15 crore India net: Rs 2.35 crore on day one, Rs 3.15 crore on Saturday, Rs 3.65 crore on Sunday, with Rs 3.30 crore on Tuesday. The next four weekdays will show whether this weekend bump becomes a floor or fades.
What the numbers mean for programming and marketing
- India net after 10 days: Rs 20.10 crore
- Worldwide gross: Rs 26.78 crore
- Second-weekend India net: Rs 2.95 crore
- Day-10 occupancy: 30.09% overall; evening peak 37.08%; morning 11.92%
- Footfall: 51,426 on Sunday; 906,906 cumulative
For exhibitors, occupancy by showtime is the most useful signal here. Evening shows led at 37.08% and afternoon at 32.38%, while morning shows managed only 11.92%. That spread tells programmers where to keep screens and where to trim rather than dropping the title entirely.
For media planners and cinema advertisers, total footfall of 906,906 since release is a reach signal: the film is drawing a steady, if not massive, audience. The comparable weekday numbers will determine whether that audience base is stable enough to plan against.
The title behind the numbers
The film is a 2026 Hindi biographical legal drama directed by Avinash Arun. Rao plays public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, with the story touching the 1993 Bombay blasts prosecution and the trial of Ajmal Kasab after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Lalit Prabhakar plays Kasab, Wamiqa Gabbi plays Jyoti Nikam, with Jaideep Ahlawat and Ashish Vidyarthi in the cast. Vishal Mishra and Emiway Bantai composed the songs; Alokananda Dasgupta handled the background score.
What to watch next
The second weekend is a positive checkpoint, but the only number that matters now is the Monday-to-Thursday hold. If daily collections stay close to the Friday level of Rs 60 lakh, the film has found a lower floor. If they dip well below that, the weekend rise was just a temporary correction.
