Udta Teer has crossed Rs65 crore in worldwide gross and is now a single weekday away from building a serious case for the Rs70 crore milestone. The spy comedy’s Day 12 numbers, cited from Sacnilk by The Times of India, show a second-week bump rather than a fade.
Day 12 in numbers
On Day 12, the film collected Rs1.60 crore in India net collections from 4,980 shows. That is an 18.5% improvement over the previous day’s Rs1.35 crore. The latest running totals now sit as follows:
- India net after Day 12: Rs45.05 crore
- India gross: Rs53.66 crore
- Overseas gross: Rs11.75 crore
- Worldwide gross: Rs65.41 crore
- Gap to Rs70 crore: Rs4.59 crore
The film sold an estimated 1,34,049 tickets on Tuesday, taking cumulative theatrical admissions to 23,69,188. For the Hindi 2D version, overall occupancy was 13.42%, with a clear curve: morning shows at 6.08%, afternoon at 11.08%, evening at 13%, and night shows a much stronger 21.69%.
Why the second-week bump matters
The headline isn’t just the Rs65.41 crore total. For media planners and distribution teams, the useful signal is direction: a day-on-day increase in the second week suggests the film is finding weekday demand after the opening push, not simply decaying from its Rs30.90 crore first-week India net.
The first five days of the second week have added Rs14.15 crore India net and Rs16.80 crore gross. That is a modest but steady tail for a star-led Hindi release, and it changes how the remaining run should be read. The occupancy split, with night shows far ahead of morning and afternoon, points to a post-work audience rather than a family matinee business, which matters for how shows and marketing are pushed over the next few days.
What to watch next
The milestone test is straightforward. Udta Teer needs another Rs4.59 crore worldwide to cross Rs70 crore. Day 13 advance bookings offer an early signal: by 5 AM IST on 4 November, 67,149 tickets had been sold for the next day, worth Rs1.11 crore.
If the film can hold India net at around Rs1.5 crore or better on the remaining weekdays, the Rs70 crore mark should fall within the week. If weekdays slip again, the milestone will depend largely on the next weekend. For the film business, this is a clean, measurable case of second-week hold versus opening-week momentum.
Directed by Aakash Kaushik in his debut, the film stars Ayushmann Khurrana as an undercover operative who loses his memory and begins to believe he is an Indian intelligence officer. The cast also includes Sara Ali Khan, Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover and the late Mukul Dev. But the box-office story now is arithmetic: Rs4.59 crore to go.
