Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali got a Saturday lift on Day 16, collecting Rs 37 lakh net in India on October 31. That is a 68.2% improvement over the previous day’s Rs 22 lakh, according to early estimates compiled by Sacnilk and reported by The Times of India. The film ran in 514 shows, averaging Rs 7,198 per screen.
But the wider picture is a film past its peak. Domestic net collections stand at Rs 57.89 crore, with India gross at Rs 67.23 crore. Overseas gross has added Rs 12.35 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 79.58 crore, near the Rs 80 crore mark but not there yet.
A Saturday bounce, not a trend reversal
The Friday-to-Saturday movement matters for theatre programming. After a subdued Friday, occupancy rose from around 14% to 19% for the Telugu 2D version. The full-day occupancy was 19.48%, with slot-level numbers between 15.91% in evening shows and 18.73% at night.
Still, the jump arrived from a shallow base. A third-week performance this far below opening-week levels should not be read as a second wind.
Where the money has come from
- Week 1: Rs 45.20 crore net in India; Rs 52.55 crore gross
- Week 2: Rs 12.10 crore net; Rs 14 crore gross, down 73.2%
- Week 3, first two days: Rs 59 lakh net; Rs 67.55 lakh gross
The first week is still the primary engine of the film’s box office, and the later legs are sharply narrower.
Dear Comrade comparison, with a caveat
Relative to the earlier Deverakonda-Mandanna theatrical pairing, Ranabaali is ahead in absolute collections. Dear Comrade recorded Rs 26.20 crore net in India during its first week and roughly Rs 37 crore worldwide gross for the same period. Ranabaali has already crossed Rs 57.89 crore domestic net and Rs 79.58 crore worldwide gross.
The caveat is timing: those Dear Comrade figures cover only the opening week, while Ranabaali‘s total includes 16 days. For distributors, the more useful benchmark is the week-on-week hold: a 73.2% drop from Week 1 to Week 2 signals a front-loaded audience and a shorter theatrical tail.
What to watch next
The immediate number is the Rs 80 crore worldwide threshold. With overseas gross doing meaningful work relative to domestic slowdown, media planners and buyers should track whether the third weekend can lift holds in Telugu-speaking markets, and whether morning and night slots can support any expansion in high-performing shows.
