Ramayana advance bookings hit ₹30 crore; top-3 opening likely

Ramayana has entered what the trade calls bumper opening territory. According to Bollywood Hungama, the Ranbir Kapoor and Yash film had sold ₹30 crore in advance tickets across India by Monday 10 PM, and the report says final pre-sales could reach ₹60 crore.

Hindi is doing the heavy lifting

Hindi accounts for the biggest share: about ₹25 crore of the advance. The remaining pre-sales are coming from the Kannada, Tamil and Telugu versions. That split matters because it tells distributors where the first-day energy is concentrated, and where a release-day push can still add value.

Chains are already signalling a top-three opening

In the top three national chains, PVRInox and Cinepolis, Ramayana has sold 2,25,000 tickets in advance. The report projects a final chain advance of 5 lakh tickets. That velocity is what places the film in the top three opening days of all time, even in a pre-Diwali window that often cools some markets.

The pre-Diwali factor cuts both ways

A pre-Diwali release usually brings less competition but softer demand in some Hindi markets. For Ramayana, the report notes that the pre-Diwali factor has already taken a toll in certain markets. The bullish ₹90 crore Hindi estimate depends on those markets returning after the festival, so the second-weekend trend will matter as much as the opening day.

What will decide the full run

Early screenings are giving the trade confidence. Bollywood Hungama has rated the film 5 stars and expects a massive blockbuster. Still, a ₹30 crore advance is a strong opening-day signal, not a final verdict.

  • ₹30 crore advance by Monday 10 PM; final pre-sales may reach ₹60 crore.
  • ₹25 crore of the advance came from Hindi alone.
  • 2.25 lakh tickets sold at PVRInox and Cinepolis; final chain advance projected at 5 lakh.
  • Top 3 all-time opening likely, despite pre-Diwali timing.

For media planners and exhibition teams, the version split and the post-Diwali hold will decide whether Ramayana becomes a pan-India blockbuster or a Hindi-led first-day event.
