Mirzapur: The Movie kept its second Sunday almost level with Saturday, earning Rs 13.25 crore in India net collections on day 10, as per trade data compiled by Sacnilk. The marginal 1.9% decline from Rs 13.50 crore on day 9 kept the film’s total India net at Rs 184.70 crore.
With overseas gross of Rs 4.00 crore on Sunday, cumulative international gross reached Rs 46.00 crore. Add that to the India gross of Rs 220.04 crore, and the worldwide gross now stands at Rs 266.04 crore after ten days.
Second-weekend report card
The film’s second weekend opened at Rs 9.50 crore on Friday and then jumped sharply on Saturday. Sunday’s number shows audiences returned despite the weekend spike.
- Second Friday: Rs 9.50 crore net from 6,763 shows; 29.0% occupancy
- Second Saturday: Rs 13.50 crore net from 7,183 shows; 37.0% occupancy
- Second Sunday: Rs 13.25 crore net from 7,225 shows; 38.0% occupancy
- Second weekend total: Rs 36.25 crore net
- First week: Rs 148.45 crore net
The day-10 drop is small enough to be noise. The show count expanded by 42 screens day-on-day, and occupancy improved from 37% to 38%, even as net collections dipped slightly. That points to stable demand rather than a movie falling off after its opening burst.
Why the hold matters
For media planners and film-business trackers, the second-weekend behaviour is often a better signal than the opening number. A 1.9% Sunday decline after a strong Saturday suggests the title is being carried by word of mouth and repeat viewing, not just by initial fan rush. The franchise’s theatrical window is now functioning as a high-attention event that can feed back into the broader content ecosystem.
The Sunday timeband data in the Hindi 2D version underlines the pattern. Morning shows were slow at 19.92% occupancy, but afternoon grew to 53.00% and evening peaked at 57.15%, with night screenings at 45.46%. That shape is typical of a film whose audience plans around multiplex slots and family viewing windows.
The franchise engine
The film is positioned as an interquel within the first season’s timeline, between episodes 6 and 7. It brings back Pankaj Tripathi as Akhandanand Tripathi, or Kaleen Bhaiya, and introduces Ravi Kishan as Babban Babua Yadav, a Jaisalmer-based businessman whose arrival reignites the fight for control of Mirzapur. Ali Fazal and Divyenndu return as Guddu Pandit and Munna Tripathi, with Jitendra Kumar, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Mohit Malik, Sonal Chauhan and Sushant Singh also in the cast.
The challenge now shifts to weekday holds. If the film can keep daily collections at a meaningful level, its Rs 266.04 crore worldwide total will continue to climb and strengthen the case for more theatrical extensions from established franchise IP.
