Jailer 2 Day 11: India gross hits Rs 441.82 crore

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is getting the second-weekend bump the trade was watching for, but Sunday’s early numbers also sharpen the film’s real story: one language is paying for the run. According to live estimates from Sacnilk cited by The Times of India, the action sequel added Rs 4.25 crore net in India by Sunday afternoon, 25 October.

That takes the India net to Rs 377.25 crore and the gross to Rs 441.82 crore. The numbers are provisional and will move once the final Day 11 count is reported.

A strong opening week, then a wobble

The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, opened with Rs 59.70 crore on Day 1 and closed its first week at Rs 317.20 crore net. The opening-week curve was volatile: Rs 37.10 crore on Day 2, Rs 47.25 crore on Day 3, Rs 55.85 crore on Day 4, then Rs 42.35 crore on Day 5, Rs 46.80 crore on Day 6 and Rs 28.15 crore on Day 7.

Week two has been softer, as expected. Day 8 brought Rs 17.15 crore, Day 9 Rs 14.50 crore, and Day 10 recovered to Rs 24.15 crore, helped by the weekend start.

The second-weekend math

  • Day 8: Rs 17.15 crore
  • Day 9: Rs 14.50 crore
  • Day 10: Rs 24.15 crore
  • Day 11 (live): Rs 4.25 crore

Sunday is the swing day. A solid final number after the midday estimate of Rs 4.25 crore would mean the film holds its second-weekend momentum and keeps its lifetime trajectory intact.

The language split matters more than the total

The Day 11 estimate covers 3,131 shows across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, but the money is not evenly distributed.

  • Tamil: Rs 3.40 crore from 1,589 shows
  • Telugu: Rs 0.55 crore from 455 shows
  • Hindi: Rs 0.30 crore from 1,087 shows

The Hindi version is playing over a thousand shows, yet it is bringing in less than a tenth of the Tamil version’s early Sunday collection. For media planners and entertainment marketers, that is the actionable data point: the launch footprint looks pan-India, but demand is heavily concentrated in the Tamil market.

What to watch next

Live estimates are a snapshot, not a verdict. They tell you where the audience is spending at that moment, not where the film finishes. The useful next step is to compare the final Sunday number with Day 10 and with the opening Sunday, and then track whether the second-week hold stabilises or keeps sliding.

That hold ratio, not the early-day headline, will set the film’s lifetime range and the marketing narrative around it.
