Good Partner S2: 16 episodes, Netflix Korea only

Good Partner, the SBS legal drama about divorce lawyers, returns for a second season on November 20, 2026. The streaming arrangement is the more interesting part of the announcement: Netflix has the title only in South Korea, while international viewers in supported markets will find it on Rakuten Viki and Viu.

The season itself

Season 2 sees Cha Eun-kyung leave Law Firm Daejung to set up her own independent practice, Libom. To manage a heavy caseload of high-profile divorce matters, she brings in Kang Hye-seong, a capable attorney whose emotionally invested approach contrasts with Eun-kyung’s clinical, business-first handling of marital dissolution.

SBS has scheduled 16 episodes, airing Fridays and Saturdays, with a 70-minute runtime per episode. Seo Min Jung directs and Choi Yoo Na writes.

The cast

Jang Na Ra returns as Cha Eun-kyung. P.O and Ji Seung Hyun are also back. New lead cast includes Kim Hye Yoon as Kang Hye-seong and Park Hae Jin as Park Tae Su, with Cha Yu Jin in a supporting role.

What the rights split means

This is not a global Netflix exclusive. A media planner looking at the title has to work with different distribution realities: Netflix in South Korea, then Rakuten Viki and Viu in their supported international territories. The first season was available on Apple TV, Wavve and Viki, so the licensing map has shifted season to season.

  • Premiere: November 20, 2026, on SBS.
  • Netflix: South Korea only.
  • International: Rakuten Viki and Viu in supported territories.
  • Format: 16 episodes, Friday-Saturday, 70 minutes each.

The planning framework

Split-windowing is easy to miss when a title grabs Netflix-branded attention. Under this model, a distributor sells rights territory by territory, so the same show carries different platform economics in Seoul, Singapore or the US.

For streaming and TV professionals, the question is not “Is it on Netflix?” but “Where is it in the market I am buying?” A Korea-only Netflix release can drive local discovery through the platform’s home screen, while Viki and Viu absorb the international K-drama audience that would otherwise search for the show.

The source does not specify whether Viki and Viu will premiere day-and-date with SBS, so local dates and subtitle timing still need to be checked before committing spend.

Netflix’s Korea-only arrangement can concentrate domestic word of mouth, but it also caps the value of any global Netflix campaign for the show. International reach must be budgeted against Viki and Viu instead.
