Drishyam 3 Hindi hits Rs 580.22 crore worldwide

At the end of its fourth week and the start of its fifth, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is still doing real business. The Hindi-language thriller collected Rs 1 crore net in India on Day 29, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India, lifting its worldwide gross to Rs 580.22 crore.

That puts the film within reach of the Rs 600 crore worldwide mark. The Friday number also landed about 11% above Thursday, a fifth-weekend bounce that signals the title has not fully exhausted its audience.

What the day-29 arithmetic shows

The latest Rs 1 crore came from 2,987 shows. Domestic net has now reached Rs 374 crore, while India gross stands at an estimated Rs 447.92 crore. Overseas added Rs 25 lakh on Friday, taking the foreign gross to Rs 132.30 crore.

Week-wise net for the Hindi version:

  • Week 1: Rs 245.50 crore
  • Week 2: Rs 87.50 crore
  • Week 3: Rs 28.85 crore
  • Week 4: Rs 11.15 crore
  • Week 5, day 29: Rs 1 crore

That is a conventional decay curve for a front-loaded Hindi event film: a steep fall after the opening week, followed by smaller weekly drops as the film shifts from event viewing to a long-tail hold. Week 2 retained about 35.6% of Week 1, Week 3 kept about 33% of Week 2, and Week 4 held about 38.7% of Week 3. None of these are distressed numbers; they describe a title that opened big and is normalising, not collapsing.

A Rs 300 crore gap with the Malayalam original

The comparison that matters here is with Mohanlal’s Malayalam Drishyam 3. By Day 29, the Malayalam version had grossed Rs 239.83 crore worldwide. The Ajay Devgn-starrer leads that by more than Rs 300 crore, which means the Hindi adaptation is well over double the Malayalam version at the same stage.

On the same day, the Malayalam film collected Rs 6 lakh net in India, a 57.1% weekday decline. Its fourth week added Rs 2.18 crore, and its all-language India net total stands at Rs 110.49 crore, including Rs 97.45 crore from the Malayalam version alone.

This is the strategic takeaway: the remake has become the primary commercial engine of the Drishyam property. For media planners and entertainment marketers, that changes how the title is valued. OTT and satellite buyers pay for demonstrated reach, and the Hindi version has proven it can pull a pan-India audience at scale.

What to watch next

The next milestone is Rs 600 crore worldwide. If the film clears it, the number becomes a licensing and marketing asset in the next round of streaming and distribution conversations. A theatrical hit of this size will command a premium in the OTT window, and advertisers around the premiere will be buying an event audience, not a catalogue title.

For anyone tracking the film business, the instruction is simple: don’t judge a film only by its opening; the day-29 hold and the gap between versions are the numbers that reveal franchise value.
