Spiritual drama Hanuman Ansh is now a single weekend away from the Rs 350 crore worldwide mark. The film added Rs 13.75 crore India nett on Day 45, a 41 percent jump from Saturday’s Rs 9.75 crore, according to Sacnilk figures cited by Moneycontrol.
With the latest Sunday numbers, the Neem Karoli Baba retelling has reached Rs 347.05 crore worldwide. That leaves roughly Rs 2.95 crore to cover before the next headline milestone.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film follows the young Lakshmi Narayan after the death of his mother as he moves through North India in search of answers, eventually becoming Neem Karoli Baba. Shobhinaw Satya leads the cast alongside Vihaan Shedge, Chandan K Anand and others.
Day 45 by the numbers
- Sunday India nett: Rs 13.75 crore, up 41 percent day-on-day
- Domestic nett total: Rs 271.88 crore
- India gross: Rs 321.05 crore
- Overseas gross: Rs 26 crore, with Rs 1.50 crore added on Day 45
- Worldwide gross: Rs 347.05 crore
Why this holdover is a signal
Hanuman Ansh’s 45-day run is unusual because the film lost its release footprint in the middle of its life. After Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2 arrived, screens reportedly dropped to just 25. The film regained shows only after Batwara 1947 did not perform as expected and audience demand returned.
For media planners and exhibition teams, this is a case study in reversible screen allocation. A title that looks finished can be re-expanded when demand signals are strong. The Sunday jump does not look like a random spike; it suggests a section of the audience is still finding the film well past six weeks.
The ROI lens
The film was made on a reported budget of Rs 1.75 crore. Against that cost, the Rs 347.05 crore worldwide gross works out to roughly 198 times the production budget. That is an exceptional multiple for a spiritual drama without the usual franchise or star-driven opening machinery.
For trade teams, the more precise domestic benchmark is India nett. Hanuman Ansh has collected Rs 271.88 crore nett in India, while the India gross stands at Rs 321.05 crore. The gap between the two is largely taxes and gross ticket value, and is why nett remains the standard Indian comparison.
What to watch next
Rs 350 crore worldwide is now about Rs 2.95 crore away. If the film holds weekday shows, it could cross that line within the current week. The bigger question for distributors is whether Hanuman Ansh can convert renewed interest into further screen gains or ancillary value.
For content buyers and marketing teams, the lesson is simple: do not assume a small-budget title is over when its initial screen count collapses. With the right audience response, theatrical holds can be rebuilt and turned into a long-tail box office story.
