Soori’s Mandaadi added Rs 3.50 crore in India net on its ninth day, a 7.7% rise over Day 8, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India. The second-Friday score lifts the film’s India net total to Rs 60.80 crore, India gross to Rs 71.10 crore and worldwide gross to Rs 84.75 crore.
That stable day-on-day movement is the key signal. A second Friday can often reset a film’s trajectory; holding rather than sliding points to late-evening and word-of-mouth demand.
Day 9 by language and screen count
The Tamil version drove the total with Rs 2.85 crore from 2,092 shows and 27.1% occupancy. The Telugu version contributed Rs 65 lakh from 1,254 shows at 20.0% occupancy. Across India, the film played 3,346 shows and recorded 24.4% overall occupancy.
Overseas added Rs 75 lakh on Day 9, taking the cumulative overseas gross to Rs 13.65 crore.
Night slots are the demand engine
Tamil 2D night shows hit 44.23% occupancy, far ahead of morning (18.08%), afternoon (22.92%) and evening (25.23%). Telugu 2D night shows reached 22.64%, while its daytime slots stayed between 12.64% and 13.36%.
For exhibitors, that gap is a scheduling and pricing input. Prime and late-night inventory is converting efficiently, while daytime capacity may be better suited to smaller screens or fewer shows if the pattern holds.

Sardar 2 comparison
Karthi’s Sardar 2 has reached Rs 15.24 crore in India net, Rs 17.83 crore in India gross and Rs 22.68 crore worldwide gross, including Rs 4.85 crore from overseas. Its Tamil version’s daily run has cooled sharply: Rs 45 lakh on Day 7, Rs 30 lakh on Day 8 and Rs 18 lakh on Day 9.
The gap is useful for buyers. Mandaadi is converting its opening-week base into second-week tickets and late-show occupancy; Sardar 2’s Tamil version is thinning quickly, which could free up screens if its exhibitors rebalance showtimes.
