Baththa earns Rs 1.29 cr on Day 7; India net at Rs 14.04 cr

Vijay Sethupathi’s Baththa added Rs 1.29 crore net on its seventh day, October 7, across 1,309 shows, according to Sacnilk figures cited by The Times of India. The Tamil film’s India net total now stands at Rs 14.04 crore, with gross collections at Rs 16.26 crore.

The Wednesday number slipped 7.9% from Tuesday’s Rs 1.40 crore — a moderate midweek dip after a weekend build. Baththa has also crossed 1.17 million cumulative footfalls, adding roughly 110,000 admissions on Day 7.

The showtime curve matters more than the drop

A 7.9% decline sounds like softening, but the daily split suggests a film playing to a specific audience rather than fading. The Tamil 2D version recorded 24.82% overall occupancy on Day 7. Morning shows were the thinnest at 16.64%, afternoon and evening shows each hit 24.36%, and night shows led at 33.91%.

That concentration in late shows is useful for release planning: demand is real but time-specific. Screens that cannot support strong night shows should not be judged by morning turnout.

  • Day 1: Rs 1.50 cr, 1,337 shows, 24.0% occupancy
  • Day 2: Rs 2.70 cr, 1,187 shows, 47.0% occupancy
  • Day 3: Rs 2.75 cr, 1,222 shows, 45.0% occupancy
  • Day 4: Rs 3.10 cr, 1,290 shows, 48.0% occupancy
  • Day 5: Rs 1.30 cr, 1,214 shows, 25.0% occupancy
  • Day 6: Rs 1.40 cr, 1,252 shows, 26.0% occupancy
  • Day 7: Rs 1.29 cr, 1,309 shows, 24.82% occupancy

The show count for Baththa actually rose from 1,252 on Tuesday to 1,309 on Wednesday, so the daily total fell even as capacity expanded. Per-show collection worked out to roughly Rs 9,855, a healthier read than the headline drop suggests.

Mandaadi turns small days into a Rs 100-crore run

Soori’s Mandaadi crossed the Rs 100 crore India net mark on Day 28. The film collected Rs 25 lakh on October 7 from 622 shows, down 7.4% from Rs 27 lakh the previous day. Its India net total is Rs 100.24 crore and India gross Rs 116.86 crore; overseas gross is Rs 17.95 crore, taking worldwide gross to Rs 134.81 crore.

That is the long-tail pay-off: with a Rs 25 lakh day, Mandaadi is not driving the daily chart, but cumulative milestones still create marketing moments and keep the title in the conversation.

What the two holds tell media planners

The two films sit at opposite ends of the release curve. Baththa needs to protect its second weekend by holding night-show screens; Mandaadi can extend value through milestone-led promotion. In both cases, the smarter metric is not the daily drop alone but occupancy by showtime and per-show average against show count.
