Marvel is treating ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ as more than a sentimental re-run. Nine days into its India run, the extended release has collected Rs 34.41 crore net, with India gross at Rs 40.88 crore. The English version has done most of the heavy lifting, keeping the film in front of the core fan base that ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will need on opening day.
The nine-day score
The English version leads with Rs 24.09 crore, according to Sacnilk. It opened at Rs 5.25 crore on September 25, moved to Rs 5.60 crore on day two, and stayed nearly flat at Rs 5.20 crore on day three. After the first weekend, collections settled into a much lower range: Rs 1.50 crore on September 28 and 29, Rs 1.25 crore on September 30 and October 1, a small rise to Rs 1.32 crore on October 2, and Rs 1.22 crore on October 3.
Language split
- English: Rs 24.09 crore — the core contributor.
- Hindi: Rs 6.52 crore; the best day was day three at Rs 1.60 crore.
- Telugu: Rs 1.96 crore.
- Tamil: Rs 1.84 crore.
Hindi started at Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 1.35 crore over its first two days, but its daily numbers have since slipped well below the one-crore mark. Put together, the reported language versions add up to the Rs 34.41 crore India net total, with gross collections at Rs 40.88 crore.
Why this run is different
The re-release is timed as a narrative bridge. Disney has scheduled Avengers: Doomsday for December 18, 2026, and the Encore version is meant to remind viewers where the story paused. Anthony Russo, per Disney, said the team’s thinking for Doomsday made it clear that they “really need to pick the story up from where you left it in Endgame.” Joe Russo separately told Fandango that the theatrical return helps connect the two films for audiences.
The media-planning read
For entertainment marketers, the language mix is the strategic signal. English-heavy demand points to a concentrated, fandom-driven audience, which is exactly the segment that decides a big MCU opening. Hindi and regional versions are meaningful but secondary, so campaigns ahead of Doomsday should not assume one-size-fits-all creative.
The wider lesson is sequencing. A catalogue re-release can function as a low-cost awareness vehicle before a big sequel, reactivating fan conversation without spending like a fresh blockbuster. The key is to convert that attention into anticipation for the new film rather than letting the old title simply run out its theatrical window.
What to watch next
The re-release’s final total matters less than the behavioural signal it creates. If the Encore run keeps the Endgame-to-Doomsday storyline in the news cycle through late 2026, it will have done its job even without record numbers. The next checkpoint is whether word of mouth lifts the second-weekend hold and how heavily Marvel links the older film to Doomsday in the coming weeks.
