Day two: ₹177 crore worldwide
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has moved past two major box-office benchmarks in its first two days. After opening with ₹93 crore worldwide on Friday, the film’s two-day total now stands at ₹177 crore. Domestic collections reached ₹115.50 crore net, or ₹138.60 crore gross, while international markets have added $4 million. The Saturday performance improved overseas even as the domestic number settled below Friday’s spike.
Faster than the first film
The number distributors will notice first: the sequel has already beaten the ₹107 crore lifetime collection of the 2015 Drishyam. It also crossed Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which ended at ₹176 crore last year. For 2026, the film now sits inside the top 10 highest-grossing Hindi titles and is set to climb quickly.
- Worldwide gross after day 2: ₹177 crore
- Domestic net after day 2: ₹115.50 crore
- Overseas total: $4 million
- Previous franchise benchmark: Drishyam lifetime, ₹107 crore
Why a sequel needs this speed
In a theatrical market where franchise titles are meant to reduce campaign risk, the third Drishyam film has done what studios want: pre-sold demand. Advance bookings crossed ₹50 crore by release day, the fourth-highest opening-day advance for a Hindi film. That means the opening days were not dependent on walk-ins; they reflected a fan base built over a decade.
The cast supports that continuity. Alongside Ajay Devgn, the film retains Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Ishita Dutta, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj join the franchise. For entertainment marketers, the lesson is that threequels gain when the central character, the mystery format and the returning cast lead the campaign rather than novelty.
What the weekend tells us
The day-two dip is unlikely to alarm distributors yet. Friday’s ₹62 crore net set a very high base, and Saturday’s ₹53.50 crore net is still a strong hold for a non-festival release. Trade comparisons point to Stree 2 and Animal, two of the biggest Hindi openers. If Sunday holds, Drishyam 3 is on course for one of the largest opening weekends in Hindi cinema.
The film, written and directed by Abhishek Pathak, released on October 2, a date already significant to the franchise. With two days behind it, the question is no longer whether Drishyam 3 can grow the franchise; it is how much higher the ceiling will be.
