Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy-comedy Udta Teer hit its first real checkpoint on Sunday. Released on October 23, 2026, the film has crossed the ₹12-crore India net mark, but the final number depends on how well evening and night shows perform. The makers have pitched it as a “quick, funny family entertainer” that gives the spy genre “a new spin.”
Directed by Akash A Kaushik with music by Sachin-Jigar, the film also stars Suhail Nayyar, Raghubir Yadav, Gulshan Grover, Prammod Sanghi and Salim Siddiqui.
Day-wise India net
- Day 1 (Friday): ₹4.10 crore
- Day 2 (Saturday): ₹7 crore
- Day 3 (Sunday, live): ₹1.63 crore in early shows
With the early Sunday number, the India net total stands at ₹12.98 crore, while the India gross total is ₹15.45 crore, according to Sacnilk figures carried by The Times of India. The film is running across 2,845 shows on Sunday.
Saturday’s growth is the strongest signal so far. The film moved from ₹4.10 crore on Friday to ₹7 crore on Saturday—a lift of roughly 71%. For a title with mixed audience and critic reactions, that is a meaningful upward move, not an explosive one.
Why the weekend number matters
Trade tracking has pointed to a ₹20-crore net target. With ₹12.98 crore banked through early Sunday, reaching that mark requires a strong final session. If Sunday ends near ₹8.9 crore, the film crosses the line; if not, it settles below.
The better number for exhibitors and distributors is Monday. Mixed reviews usually reveal themselves after the opening weekend, when family audiences’ convenience-driven walk-ins fade and word-of-mouth takes over.
Overseas and worldwide
Through Day 2, Udta Teer had an overseas gross of ₹2.75 crore, with ₹1.50 crore added abroad by Saturday. That put its worldwide gross at ₹15.98 crore through Day 2, before Sunday’s domestic numbers were final.
What to watch next
The final Sunday figure will show whether the film merely held its opening level or actually built momentum. From there, track two numbers: the Monday drop and the show count Udta Teer holds against Jailer 2 in its second weekend. A small Monday fall means the family positioning is working despite the reviews; a sharp fall means the opening was front-loaded, and marketing spend should shift to titles with stronger holds.
