Day 11: a modest hold, not yet a collapse
Yami Gautam’s horror-comedy Nayyi Navelli collected Rs 0.35 crore net in India on its 11th day, according to box office tracker Sacnilk. The film was playing across roughly 1,300 shows, which puts the average at about Rs 2,700 per show—a workable weekday number but not a strong one.
The 11-day India net stands at Rs 24.95 crore. India gross is Rs 29.62 crore, and overseas gross has reached Rs 3.15 crore after adding Rs 0.05 crore on the day. Combined worldwide gross is Rs 32.77 crore.
The second-week curve is the signal to watch
After a Rs 22.15 crore first-week net, the film’s second Friday brought Rs 0.60 crore, Saturday added Rs 90 lakh and Sunday climbed further, taking the second-week total to Rs 2.45 crore. That is a fall from the first week, but the weekend still shows some audience pull.
The film opened on October 16 at Rs 3.25 crore net. Its first weekend peaked on Sunday, and Tuesday held before daily numbers tapered off toward the end of the first week.
For distribution and marketing teams, weekday retention is the better test. A Rs 0.35 crore day is fine only if the following weekdays stay nearby. Sharp drops would give exhibitors a reason to cut shows and shift screens to newer releases.
What the box office means for media planners
- Day 11 India net: Rs 0.35 crore from 1,300 shows.
- 11-day India net: Rs 24.95 crore; India gross Rs 29.62 crore.
- Overseas gross: Rs 3.15 crore; worldwide gross Rs 32.77 crore.
- First week vs second week: Rs 22.15 crore net against Rs 2.45 crore second-week total.
The film marks Balaji Mohan’s Bollywood directorial debut. It stars Yami Gautam as Mohini, with Adinath Kothare, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vashisht and Sushmita Mukherjee in the cast. The plot blends horror and comedy in Meerut, with a Ramayana-linked turn when the new bride’s brother-in-law suspects she may be a daayan.
For entertainment marketers, the useful benchmark is not the headline total but the per-show average. At roughly Rs 2,700, a film can keep its screen count if weekdays stay steady; below that, the economics quickly shift. The next three weekdays will show whether Nayyi Navelli is heading for a quiet finish or a steadier second act.
