Nayyi Navelli's Tuesday jumps 64.2% to Rs 4.35 cr

Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli recovered sharply on its first Tuesday, collecting Rs 4.35 crore net in India on October 20. That is a 64.2% jump over Monday’s Rs 2.65 crore, according to Sacnilk data carried by The Times of India.

The Tuesday number matters because it brings the film back within striking distance of its Sunday peak, suggesting the Monday fall was a post-weekend correction rather than a hard rejection.

What the five-day curve shows

The film opened at Rs 3.25 crore on Friday, improved to Rs 4 crore on Saturday and hit Rs 4.40 crore on Sunday before sliding to Rs 2.65 crore on Monday. Tuesday’s recovery to Rs 4.35 crore took the five-day India net total to Rs 18.65 crore.

  • India net: Rs 18.65 crore
  • India gross: Rs 22.18 crore
  • Overseas gross: Rs 2.50 crore
  • Worldwide gross: Rs 24.68 crore

For a small Hindi release, the gap between Sunday and Tuesday – just Rs 0.05 crore – is an early sign that weekday audiences have not checked out.

Occupancy shows where the audience sits

Tuesday’s overall theatre occupancy was 28.33%. Evening shows led with 37.54%, followed by afternoon at 33.77%, night at 29.08% and morning at 9.08%.

The film recorded 214,527 footfalls on the day, taking the cumulative total to 895,551. For marketers, the showtime split is the actionable part: afternoon and evening slots are doing the heavy lifting, while morning screenings remain weak.

The real test is Wednesday

Directed by Balaji Mohan, Nayyi Navelli is a family drama with a supernatural twist – a premise that depends on word of mouth more than opening-day hype. A 64.2% Tuesday bounce does not guarantee a long run, but it does suggest the film has retained some conversation value after the weekend.

If Wednesday’s India net stays above Monday’s Rs 2.65 crore, the title has a credible path to extend its run and push its worldwide gross toward the next box-office milestone. If it falls back, the Tuesday bounce will look more like a one-day scheduling quirk than a real hold.
