Mirzapur The Movie closes in on Rs 210 cr India, Rs 300 cr global

Sixteen days into its theatrical run, the big-screen extension of Prime Video’s Mirzapur universe is within a few crores of two markers: Rs 210 crore India net and Rs 300 crore worldwide gross.

Where the numbers stand

By Day 15, Gurmmeet Singh’s film had reached Rs 206.20 crore India net and Rs 296.14 crore worldwide gross, according to box office tracking cited by The Times of India. That leaves roughly Rs 3.80 crore to Rs 210 crore in India net and about Rs 3.86 crore to Rs 300 crore global gross.

Day 16 live tracking, as cited from Sacnilk, showed Rs 0.96 crore collected across 2,287 shows, taking the India net total to Rs 207.16 crore. Final Day 16 figures will land once the day’s shows are closed.

  • Week 1: Rs 148.45 crore India net
  • Week 2: Rs 55.00 crore India net
  • Day 15: Rs 2.75 crore India net
  • Day 16 live: Rs 0.96 crore India net
  • Overseas gross by Day 15: Rs 50.50 crore
  • Worldwide gross by Day 15: Rs 296.14 crore

The run opened at Rs 25.75 crore on Day 1 and peaked at Rs 36 crore on Day 3. The first week contributed Rs 148.45 crore, the second week added Rs 55 crore, and Day 15 chipped in Rs 2.75 crore. Overseas gross reached Rs 50.50 crore by Day 15, including Rs 0.75 crore added that day.

Why this matters for the business

Mirzapur The Movie is an OTT-first franchise testing a theatrical window. For platform executives and content buyers, its box office is a demand signal for whether streaming-born IP can generate first-run cinema revenue without losing its platform identity.

The hold pattern is more revealing than the cumulative total. Day 15 brought only Rs 2.75 crore, and the Day 16 live number was Rs 0.96 crore. That points to a title in the late-decay stage rather than a strong hold. Crossing Rs 210 crore India net is now highly likely; the larger question is whether the film can use the third weekend to build enough momentum for Rs 220 crore and beyond.

For media planners, the split matters too. Domestic net is far ahead of overseas gross, making this a primarily India-led theatrical event. That has implications for how similar franchise extensions are positioned: the theatrical pitch is built on the domestic streaming fandom, not on traditional overseas star power.

The film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh, written by Puneet Krishna, and brings back Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal, Ravi Kishan and other franchise regulars.
