Mahaveer Jain Films is adding a bilingual genre play to its slate. The production house will present Lambodhara 2.0, a Kannada sci-fi social thriller directed by Simple Suni, in cinemas on November 20, 2026, in both Kannada and Hindi.
The film stars Kunal Kapoor, Saachi Bindra and debutant Anil Shetty. The marketing hook is JIA, a real humanoid robot, not a VFX creation. A first look is scheduled for October 14.
What the film is asking
Lambodhara 2.0 is set in a world shaped by artificial intelligence and digital validation, and asks whether technology can make human beings happy. That question is timely for entertainment marketers because it connects a theatrical release to a wider debate about AI, attention and wellbeing.
Why it matters
For media planners and distributors, this is a test of whether a Kannada original can open a Hindi market without a pan-India star. A day-and-date bilingual release doubles the addressable theatrical audience, while a physical robot gives campaigns a demo-ready asset instead of a standard poster.
The AI theme also makes the film a potential branded-content vehicle. Brands in consumer tech, smartphones and ed-tech regularly look for narratives about technology and happiness; a film with a physical robot is easier to activate on ground than a pure VFX property.
What to do about it
- Build launch assets around the robot; it is more photographable for media and influencers than another cast still.
- Plan Kannada and Hindi as one release event, not a dubbed afterthought.
- Use the October 14 first look as an early read on the campaign’s visual language.
The wider slate
Mahaveer Jain’s other announced projects include Yeh Prem Mol Liya with Rajshri Productions, directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari; RamBola, directed by Vishal Chaturvedi; and Naagzilla, starring Kartik Aaryan and set for February 12, 2027. A devotional drama fronted by Ravi Kishan is also in the works.
For brands and distributors, that multi-genre pipeline is a slate to track: one producer, several audience segments and multiple release windows for potential content or sponsorship deals. For media planners, the slate is also a reminder that release calendars are becoming regional-bilingual by default. A Kannada title with a Hindi date, a devotional drama and a monster film with an A-list star can serve different client briefs from the same producer relationship.
There is no box-office figure to model yet; the date and the language split are the first planning inputs.
