Schedule shift puts a comedy sequel against Bollywood’s most protected release window.
What happened
Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 is no longer arriving on August 28, 2026. On October 13, T-Series confirmed that the sequel will now open on March 5, 2027, just days ahead of Eid, expected to fall on Wednesday, March 10.
The date change places it close to Monster, the Salman Khan release scheduled for Eid 2027. Monster could take the Wednesday Eid slot on March 10, or the producers could opt for Friday, March 5, the same day as Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. If both land on March 5, it would be a direct theatrical collision that the Eid corridor has not seen for nearly 16 years.
Why this window matters
Salman Khan’s Eid slot has been remarkably uncontested since Bodyguard arrived on August 31, 2011 alongside Mummy Punjabi and Bol, with That Girl In Yellow Boots following two days later. After that, Khan’s Eid releases — from Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 through Sikandar in 2025 — avoided a comparable face-off. Even Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, once talked about for an Eid 2016 collision with Sultan, eventually moved to Republic Day 2017.
That history is why the Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 announcement matters. Even if Monster waits until March 10, the sequel will arrive immediately before a big Khan holiday title, a move few films have tried in recent years. If Monster moves to March 5, the fight becomes direct.
The slate and the stakes
The sequel brings back Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, Parvin Dabas, Tara Sharma and Kiran Juneja, with Ravi Kishan, Divya Khossla, Nishant Verma, Kangan Baruah Nangia and Danish Iqbal joining. It is directed by Priya Mishra and Prashant Bhagia, and produced by T-Series Films with Tandav Films.
- Khosla Ka Ghosla 2: March 5, 2027, five days before Eid if Eid lands on March 10.
- Monster: expected March 10, 2027, but could take March 5.
- Direct Salman Eid clash: last comparable case was Bodyguard in 2011.
For exhibitors, the question is screen allocation. A direct clash would split premium screens; a five-day gap would let Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 open first and hold its shows into the holiday. For marketers, the film is counterprogramming — a comedy sequel against a big-ticket event — so it can position itself as the alternative rather than the challenger.
