Drishyam The Conclusion: Rs 4.13 cr by Monday afternoon

Drishyam The Conclusion began its first full working day with Rs 4.13 crore nett by Monday afternoon, giving exhibitors and distributors an early look at whether the film can hold beyond its opening weekend. Weekday collections separate front-loaded titles from films with genuine word-of-mouth, so the half-day figure is a useful, though incomplete, signal.

For exhibitors, this is the first working-day evidence of repeat demand. A stable hold can protect screens into the second weekend; a weak Monday often triggers show reductions before the next Friday.

The afternoon footprint

Across India, the film sold about 1.71 lakh tickets from 6,376 shows in 564 cities and 1,522 venues. Overall occupancy stood at 12.2% by afternoon. The afternoon window was the strongest at 12.6%, the morning was 11.7%, and the evening shows, which were just beginning, were at 10.6%.

Because Monday footfalls are tied to office and school routines, the day will only take shape once evening and night shows are counted.

Where the ticket money is coming from

Maharashtra continued to dominate. The state contributed Rs 1.35 crore nett, or 32.7% of the afternoon total, from 55,006 tickets. NCR followed with Rs 76.44 lakh, and Rajasthan was third with Rs 26.35 lakh.

Among cities, Mumbai led with Rs 48.66 lakh from 19,109 tickets and 17.6% occupancy. Pune posted Rs 38.98 lakh from just 333 shows and recorded 20.0% occupancy, the best among the top three. Delhi followed with Rs 37.44 lakh at 18.0%.

Multiplex chains

PVR led the chains with Rs 1.07 crore nett, about 25.8% of the total. It sold 36,140 tickets across 883 shows at 156 venues, at 19.2% occupancy. INOX reported Rs 78.87 lakh at 15.8% occupancy, and Cinepolis Rs 35.89 lakh at 14.2%.

What the early Monday number tells planners

  • A small set of markets and screens is doing the heavy lifting: Maharashtra alone is close to a third of collections.
  • PVR’s 25.8% chain share matters for show allocation and marketing spends in multiplex-heavy cities.
  • Afternoon occupancy is a partial view; the evening and night shows will decide the full-day trend.

For media planners and exhibition teams, the useful move is not to treat the afternoon number as the final Monday verdict. The next checkpoint is the close-of-day figure, especially in Mumbai and Pune, where occupancy is already higher than the national average.
