The Drishyam franchise has stopped being a quiet thriller brand and become a box-office compounding story. After two days of Drishyam The Conclusion, the three-film India net total stands at Rs 420.65 crore, and the gap to a place among Hindi cinema’s top 10 franchises is down to Rs 88.62 crore.
The math now
Before the third film opened, the franchise had Rs 307.67 crore in India net collections: Rs 67.13 crore from the first Drishyam and Rs 240.54 crore from Drishyam 2. Drishyam The Conclusion added Rs 112.98 crore in its first two days, lifting the combined total to Rs 420.65 crore.
That moves it from its pre-release No. 21 spot to roughly No. 14. It now sits above Dhoom (Rs 396.88 crore) and Dhamaal (Rs 394.42 crore), just below Dabangg (Rs 439.99 crore). The current No. 10, Singham, stands at Rs 509.27 crore.
- Pre-release franchise position: No. 21
- Combined total after two days: Rs 420.65 crore
- Next target: Dabangg at Rs 439.99 crore
- Top 10 gate: Singham at Rs 509.27 crore
- Gap to Top 10: Rs 88.62 crore
Why the gap looks beatable
The third film has already delivered more than half of the Rs 201.60 crore that the franchise needed before release to pass the Top 10 cut-off. The opening trajectory shows the scale of the expansion: Drishyam opened at Rs 5.80 crore on day one and finished at Rs 67.13 crore; Drishyam 2 opened at Rs 15.38 crore and finished at Rs 240.54 crore; Drishyam The Conclusion opened at Rs 62.03 crore and has already collected Rs 112.98 crore in two days.
That opening-day number is the clearest signal. From Rs 5.80 crore for the first film to Rs 62.03 crore for the third, the franchise has multiplied its opening-day net more than ten times. The question is no longer whether the brand has grown, but how far the current film’s holds can carry it.
What it means for screen business
For media planners and entertainment marketers, a thriller franchise that now competes with action-led properties changes the value of its inventory. A title that started as a mid-sized success is now a genuine reach vehicle, which matters for brand integrations, in-cinema campaigns and after-theatrical packaging. The benchmark rule still applies: net India collections are not worldwide gross, and lifetime totals decide the final ranking.
The franchise remains far below the top of the table — Dhurandhar leads at Rs 2004.05 crore and Pushpa follows at Rs 938.36 crore — but the direction is what matters. Drishyam is no longer approaching the list; it is in the chase.
