Banijay keeps post-merger C-suite in-house

Banijay Entertainment has named the executive team that will run the enlarged production group following its merger with All3Media. The line-up keeps the leadership tightly inside legacy Banijay, with one high-profile exception: former All3Media CEO Jane Turton becomes deputy CEO.

The new reporting line

CEO Marco Bassetti confirmed the executive committee will include Banijay Rights CEO Cathy Payne alongside four functional chiefs and the content and communications leadership. The roles are:

  • Fred Balmary, chief business officer
  • Nicolas Chazarain, chief legal officer
  • Thomas Gousset, chief finance officer
  • Anne Van Sprang, chief human resources officer
  • Lucas Green, chief content officer, operations
  • James Townley, chief content officer, development
  • Kate Humphreys, chief communications officer

All report to Bassetti.

An acquirer-side bench

Beyond Turton, every named executive comes from the Banijay side. Most of them predate Banijay’s 2020 acquisition of Endemol Shine, which means the integration is being steered by executives who have already worked through one large production merger. James Townley is the only leader in the group who came from Endemol rather than legacy Banijay.

All3Media’s Thomas Shearer and Jamie McIntyre-Brown also remain as deputy CFO and deputy CLO respectively, preserving some All3Media continuity in finance and legal. In a staff memo, Bassetti said the group had made a “significant contribution” and played an “integral role” in delivering the merger and advancing the current integration.

Why it matters for the screen business

The merger, completed in July and chaired by RedBird IMI’s Jeff Zucker, has already retired the All3Media brand. Banijay Entertainment now controls dozens of production companies globally, with titles such as The Traitors and Peaky Blinders. That scale gives it leverage in commissioning, format sales and library licensing.

For media planners, distributors and platform buyers, the leadership choices signal where power will sit during integration. Banijay Rights, under Cathy Payne, remains the commercial engine for the enlarged catalogue. Content operations and development are separated under Green and Townley, keeping the pipeline and the P&L visible to Bassetti.

Bassetti told staff the team would be formally introduced as integration progresses and asked for patience during the change. That makes the next few quarters the period to watch how legacy All3Media labels are folded into the group’s development and sales machine.
