Mandaadi crosses Rs 100 crore worldwide on day 11

Soori’s Mandaadi used its second Sunday to strengthen an already healthy run, adding Rs 8 crore in India net on day 11. That is a 22.1% improvement over Saturday’s Rs 6.55 crore, and it came from 3,865 shows, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India. Sunday’s overseas collection was Rs 75 lakh, lifting the overseas gross to Rs 15.40 crore. With that push, the film’s India net total stands at Rs 75.55 crore, India gross at Rs 88.32 crore, and worldwide gross at Rs 103.72 crore.

Second-weekend hold is the real signal

The day-wise trajectory matters more than the headline total. After taking Rs 3.70 crore on day 9 and Rs 6.55 crore on day 10, Mandaadi climbed again on day 11. The second weekend added Rs 18.25 crore net, equal to roughly 32% of its Rs 57.30 crore first-week India net figure. For a film that has already entered its second frame, that suggests a core audience is returning rather than a front-loaded run.

  • Day 9 (2nd Friday): Rs 3.70 crore India net
  • Day 10 (2nd Saturday): Rs 6.55 crore India net
  • Day 11 (2nd Sunday): Rs 8.00 crore India net
  • Overall India net: Rs 75.55 crore

Tamil version carries the business

Across all formats, day 11 occupancy came in at 38.8%, but the regional split tells a more useful story. The Tamil version contributed Rs 7.15 crore of the India net total with 48.1% occupancy across 2,486 shows. The Tamil 2D format was even stronger at 54.0% overall occupancy, with evening shows peaking at 62.54%. The Telugu version accounted for Rs 0.85 crore, with 22.0% occupancy across 1,379 shows.

For programming teams, that split signals where demand is concentrated. Tamil markets are justifying screen retention into the third week, while the Telugu version’s lower occupancy suggests a smaller growth runway unless show counts or show timings are adjusted.

The comparison with Sardar 2

The same reporting window shows the contrast with Karthi’s Sardar 2. The actioner has collected Rs 15.84 crore in India net and Rs 23.35 crore in worldwide gross, with India accounting for 79.23% of that and overseas 20.77%. By comparison, Mandaadi has cleared the Rs 100 crore worldwide mark, with overseas gross at Rs 15.40 crore.

The gap is useful for media planners and distributors, but it is not a pure like-for-like test. Release scale, marketing spend, screen allocation, and franchise status all influence the numbers. The more durable signal is hold behaviour: Mandaadi gained 22.1% into its second Sunday, while Sardar 2‘s Tamil version moved from Rs 25 lakh on day 10 to Rs 32 lakh on day 11—an improvement, but on a much smaller base.

What to watch next

The next checkpoint is whether Mandaadi can convert its Tamil-market strength into a solid second-weekday hold. If weekday drops stay below 50% from Sunday, distributors have a case to keep premium evening shows intact. If the Telugu version continues at around 22% occupancy, expect show rationalisation there before the third weekend. For box-office analysts, the second-weekend multiple may be the most useful early indicator of lifetime value.
