Day 68 is usually where a theatrical run slows to a crawl. ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has instead added a small Tuesday gain and a fresh language market. Trade data cited by The Times of India puts the devotional drama’s Tuesday India net at ₹1.30 crore, up 4% from the ₹1.25 crore collected on Monday, across 2,951 Hindi and Telugu shows.
Two versions, two speeds
Hindi contributed ₹55 lakh from 1,812 shows on its 68th day; the Telugu release collected ₹75 lakh from 1,139 shows on just its fifth day. The title’s overall occupancy for the day was 17.2%, with Hindi at 16% and Telugu at 19%. That split matters: the newer Telugu version is doing the heavier lifting per show.
- Day 68 India net: ₹1.30 cr, up from ₹1.25 cr Monday
- Cumulative India net: ₹337.03 cr
- Domestic gross: ₹397.80 cr
- Overseas gross: ₹40.60 cr, after ₹10 lakh on Tuesday
- Worldwide gross: ₹438.40 cr
- Footfalls: 134,624 on Day 68
The weekly curve is the real news
The film’s opening week was just ₹1.08 crore and Week 2 dropped to ₹40 lakh. Then it changed gear: ₹10.40 crore in Week 3, ₹61.00 crore in Week 4 and a ₹90.25 crore peak in Week 5. Week 6 held at ₹80.25 crore, Week 7 delivered ₹44.80 crore and Week 8 added ₹29.20 crore. Week 9 collected ₹10.60 crore.
That is not a front-loaded blockbuster. It is a word-of-mouth and faith-audience compounder that built most of its value weeks after release. Sacnilk’s overall verdict remains blockbuster, with worldwide gross now at ₹438.40 crore.
Why the trade should care
For entertainment marketers, streaming buyers and syndication teams, the shape of the run changes the valuation conversation. A title that peaks in Week 5 has a different audience profile and shelf life than a first-weekend hit. The Telugu version, released on October 9, is effectively giving the film a second opening window two months after the Hindi premiere.
The next data point is whether Telugu occupancy holds beyond the launch window. If it does, the blockbuster label becomes a catalogue and streaming negotiation advantage, not just a box-office headline.
