Prime Video is moving ahead with its adaptation of Elsie Silver’s Rose Hill book series, assembling a core cast for the contemporary small-town romance. The project remains in early development; no release date or production start has been set.
The adaptation bet
Amazon announced the Rose Hill adaptation at its May 2026 upfront, positioning it in the same lane as Netflix’s My Life With the Walter Boys and Ransom Canyon. That lane matters because book adaptations arrive with a built-in readership and an existing fanbase, reducing the discovery burden for a new series.
Silver’s four-book series — Wild Love, Wild Eyes, Wild Side and Wild Card — also gives Prime Video a potential multi-season library rather than a one-off film.
Cast and creative team
Prime Video has cast Jake Weary as West Belmont and Sean O’Pry as Ford Grant, the best friends and neighbors at the story’s center. Hannah Galway will play Rose, and Sadie Dickerson will play Skylar Stone. O’Pry, an American model, is widely known for appearing in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Blank Space.”
- Jake Weary — West Belmont, a rancher with commitment issues
- Sean O’Pry — Ford Grant, a brooding record label owner
- Hannah Galway — Rose, West’s sister
- Sadie Dickerson — Skylar Stone, a country-pop star
Additional cast includes Siobhan McGroarty as Cora, Sophia Reid-Gantzert as Emmy Belmont, and West Mulholland as Oliver Belmont. Gigi Zumbado will play Tabitha and Curtis Hamilton will portray Bash Rousseau in recurring guest roles.
Heidi Cole McAdams is showrunner. Marc Webb directs the pilot and second episode, with Temple Hill producing. Silver executive produces alongside Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and James Seidman; Annika Patton is co-executive producer.
Why the franchise angle matters
The source material is built on interconnected romance arcs. Grant is described in the books as Forbes’ “World’s Hottest Billionaire” and has long carried a torch for Rose, while Skylar Stone’s arrival in the rugged mountain town ripples through the romantic family drama. That structure supports multiple seasons, spinoff-friendly casting, and social content built around key chemistry moments.
For media planners and entertainment marketers, the takeaway is distribution strategy. A four-book adaptation can sustain subscription marketing campaigns, influencer partnerships tied to book fandoms, and merchandising windows over a longer cycle than a standalone film.
Still, Prime Video has not announced a premiere date or started production. The next milestone will be whether additional casting and a production timeline signal a 2027 window or later.
