Drishyam 3 Crosses Rs 400 Cr Worldwide on Day 9

Sequels usually have to prove their box-office power all over again. Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is doing that quickly: by Day 9 it has crossed Rs 400 crore worldwide and moved within striking distance of Rs 300 crore in India net collections, according to early numbers reported from industry tracker Sacnilk.

The second-Saturday uptick is the headline. Drishyam 3 collected an early Rs 20.85 crore by Saturday evening, well above the Rs 14.50 crore final it posted on Day 8. That lifted its India net total to Rs 280.85 crore and its India gross to Rs 336.60 crore.

Why the second-weekend jump matters

Opening day tells you about marketing and franchise heat; the second weekend tells you whether people actually liked the film. A Saturday improvement in week two, when the initial rush is over, is one of the strongest signals of word-of-mouth demand.

At the same time, the film is not playing narrow. It was running across 13,013 shows on Day 9, with occupancy of 36% by Saturday evening. For a title already playing at that scale, a mid-30s occupancy on a partial day is a solid base, not a sign of fatigue.

Franchise arithmetic

The comparison with the previous instalment is where the commercial story sharpens.

  • India net total: Rs 280.85 crore
  • India gross: Rs 336.60 crore
  • Day 9 early estimate: Rs 20.85 crore vs Day 8 final of Rs 14.50 crore
  • Worldwide: over Rs 400 crore

Drishyam 3 has already passed Drishyam 2, which earned roughly Rs 239.67 crore net in India, making the new release the highest-grossing entry in the Drishyam franchise. The film, directed by Abhishek Pathak and starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, is now among Ajay Devgn’s biggest commercial successes as a lead.

Net, gross and the worldwide number

The Rs 336.60 crore India gross sits above the Rs 280.85 crore India net because gross includes taxes; net is the collection after those adjustments. The Rs 400 crore worldwide figure, meanwhile, adds overseas markets to the domestic total.

What to watch next

The next visible marker is Rs 300 crore in India net collections. With the second weekend still underway, Saturday’s partial number already beating Friday’s final suggests the milestone is a question of timing rather than possibility. A relatively clear theatrical window, with no major new Hindi release competing for the same audience, supports the hold in the near term.
