The Paradise hits ₹166.8 cr worldwide after 11 days

Nani’s The Paradise is now past the ₹166-crore mark globally, but the Day 11 story is a small second-Sunday recovery rather than a fresh burst of demand. The Srikanth Odela-directed action drama added ₹2.10 crore net in India on October 4, a 5% lift over Saturday’s ₹2.00 crore.

The uptick brought the film’s 11-day India net total to ₹115.10 crore, with India gross at ₹135.75 crore and overseas earnings at ₹31.05 crore—taking worldwide gross to ₹166.80 crore, per Sacnilk data.

Show count splits the two stories

While The Paradise got a modest second-Sunday bump, Fahadh Faasil’s Don’t Trouble The Trouble fell to ₹62 lakh on Day 3, down 19.5% from Saturday’s ₹77 lakh. Its three-day India net stands at ₹3.04 crore, with gross of ₹3.52 crore.

The difference sits in show counts and occupancy:

  • The Paradise: 197,421 footfalls across 1,581 shows; Sunday occupancy 27.4%, up from Saturday’s 24.3%. Telugu contributed ₹2.02 crore (28.1% occupancy) and Hindi ₹0.08 crore (19%).
  • Don’t Trouble The Trouble: 40,217 footfalls across 802 shows; Sunday occupancy 20%, up from Saturday’s 16.6%—but the film lost 373 shows, so collections still slid.

Why a higher occupancy can still mean a smaller gross

This is a useful distribution read for media planners and exhibition teams. Occupancy alone flatters a film when screens are removed. Don’t Trouble The Trouble improved its reported occupancy on Sunday, yet its collections contracted because the show count fell from 1,175 to 802. A distributor looking only at occupancy might conclude demand is improving; a distributor looking at gross sees the opposite.

For The Paradise, the more relevant metric is an internal weekend hold. The second Sunday delivered 75% of Friday’s ₹2.80 crore, after Saturday dipped to ₹2.00 crore. That is not a full recovery, but it suggests the film is not collapsing after a strong first week of ₹108.20 crore.

What to watch

For trade teams, the next checkpoint is retention. The Paradise held its show count from Saturday to Sunday (1,573 to 1,581 shows), while Don’t Trouble The Trouble was cut by nearly a third. The question is whether the Telugu-heavy film can convert its modest Sunday recovery into weekday stability and hold screens into week three.
