Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam – The Conclusion has entered the longest phase of a blockbuster’s life: the daily numbers are small, but the cumulative total is still rising. After 36 days, the crime thriller has grossed Rs 587.42 crore worldwide, with a Day 36 India net of about Rs 5 lakh from 66 shows, unchanged from Day 35, according to Sacnilk.
The contrast is the point. Week 1 alone brought Rs 245.50 crore net. Now the film is effectively playing out its final days before screens reset around Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
Where the money sits now
Drishyam 3’s India net total stands at Rs 379.30 crore. Its domestic gross is Rs 454.22 crore, or 77.3% of the global gross. Overseas markets have added Rs 133.20 crore, or 22.7%.
The weekly curve shows the normal decay of an event film:
- Week 1: Rs 245.50 crore net, Rs 294.60 crore gross
- Week 2: Rs 87.50 crore net, Rs 104.45 crore gross – a 64.4% drop
- Week 3: Rs 28.85 crore net, Rs 34.47 crore gross – a 67% drop
- Week 4: Rs 11.15 crore net, Rs 13.20 crore gross – a 61.4% drop
- Day 36: Rs 5 lakh net, Rs 6 lakh gross
Ramayana takes over the screen map
Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has redrawn the competitive picture. In its first two days it collected Rs 221.05 crore worldwide. Its India net crossed Rs 100 crore, domestic gross reached Rs 134.80 crore, and overseas added Rs 86.25 crore.
That scale makes further holds for Drishyam 3 a screen-allocation question, not a demand question. The film will keep shedding shows, but the revenue story is already written.
What media teams should track
For media planners and entertainment marketers, Drishyam 3 is a clean example of the metric that matters at different stages. Early in the run, daily and weekend numbers drove the narrative. By Day 36, the only useful metrics are the lifetime cume, the territory split and the rate at which the title is losing screens.
The 77.3/22.7 domestic-overseas split also shows why international release planning still matters for Hindi thrillers. A Rs 133.20 crore overseas gross is not a minor add; it lifts the global total by nearly a quarter and can be the difference between a strong number and a round-number headline.
