Venkatesh’s Telugu family drama Aadarsha Kutumbam House No: 47 (AK 47) has closed its first week with Rs 63.95 cr in worldwide gross, according to Sacnilk data cited by trade reports. India gross contributed Rs 48.20 cr, and domestic net collections reached Rs 41.15 cr. Overseas gross totaled Rs 15.75 cr. The film now sits roughly Rs 7 cr away from the Rs 70 cr worldwide mark.
The opening weekend did the heavy lifting
Daily India net collections show a clear front-loaded pattern:
- Friday, October 30: Rs 9.75 cr
- Saturday: Rs 10.40 cr
- Sunday: Rs 11.25 cr
- Monday: Rs 3.40 cr
- Tuesday: Rs 2.60 cr
- Wednesday: Rs 2.10 cr
- Thursday, November 5: Rs 1.65 cr
The three-day opening weekend alone added up to Rs 31.40 cr. That was enough to make AK 47 the top Indian box office title between October 30 and November 1, ahead of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which was in its third week. The comparison comes with a caveat: AK 47 had the advantage of a fresh screen count and played across 20,035 shows during the week, while Jailer 2 was already deep into its run and still came close on Sunday.
Monday marks the real test
Monday collections fell 69.8% to Rs 3.40 cr, and the decline continued through Thursday’s Rs 1.65 cr from 1,635 shows. The per-show average on day seven was Rs 10,092, with Telugu 2D occupancy at 17.14%.
For media planners and distribution teams, the occupancy and weekday curve matter more than the opening total. A strong weekend followed by a steep Monday drop usually means the core audience arrived early and word of mouth has not yet expanded the audience. The early pattern suggests AK 47 is behaving like a front-loaded title rather than a leggy one.
The gap between India gross (Rs 48.20 cr) and domestic net (Rs 41.15 cr) is the tax-and-adjustment layer. Net is what the distributor reports after entertainment tax, while gross is the collection before those deductions. Recovery models are typically built on net, but worldwide headlines run on gross.
What to watch now
Overseas added Rs 25 lakh on Thursday, taking the cumulative overseas gross to Rs 15.75 cr. The second weekend is the next decision point. By 6 am on Friday, advance sales had moved 90,546 tickets worth Rs 1.16 cr for November 6 screenings. If the film holds closer to its weekday level over the second weekend, crossing Rs 70 cr worldwide is well within reach; if it dips further, the milestone will take longer.
Trivikram Srinivas has written and directed the film, with Venkatesh and Srinidhi Shetty in lead roles and Nara Rohith, Nivetha Pethuraj and Yuvina Parthavi in supporting parts. The story follows Chittibabu, Swarna and their family at House No. 47.
