Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is now in its fifth week, and the box office story has shifted from growth to tail. The Ajay Devgn-led thriller collected Rs 55 lakh net in India on Wednesday, November 4, from 3,014 shows. That is a 26.7% drop from the previous day’s Rs 75 lakh, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India.
Day 34: the daily number
Overseas markets added Rs 15 lakh on Wednesday. The cumulative picture is clear: India net is Rs 379.20 cr, India gross Rs 454.10 cr, overseas gross Rs 133.20 cr, and worldwide gross Rs 587.30 cr. The film is now a short step from the Rs 590 cr mark.
The weekly curve shows the slowdown
- Week 1: Rs 245.50 cr net / Rs 294.60 cr gross
- Week 2: Rs 87.50 cr net / Rs 104.45 cr gross, down 64.4%
- Week 3: Rs 28.85 cr net / Rs 34.47 cr gross, down 67%
- Week 4: Rs 11.15 cr net / Rs 13.20 cr gross, down 61.4%
- Days 29-34: Rs 6.20 cr net / Rs 7.38 cr gross, about 97.5% below the opening week
This is normal late-run arithmetic for a widely released Hindi film, but the rate of decline matters for anyone still holding screens or buying media against the title.
Occupancy is a demand signal
The Hindi 2D version recorded overall occupancy of 8.69% on Wednesday. Morning shows were weakest at 6.33%, afternoon screenings saw 8.08%, evening was 8.75%, and night shows led at 10.42%. Even the strongest showtime filled only about one seat in ten.
For exhibitors, that is a cue to prune shows rather than prop up a film with empty inventory. For distributors, the practical question is whether remaining theatrical revenue justifies continuing overheads.
Why this matters for the screen business
The 97.5% fifth-week comparison is not a verdict on the film; Rs 587.30 cr worldwide is a substantial result. It is a read on demand exhaustion: the audience that was going to see this film in cinemas has mostly already seen it. Late-week collections now function as a data point for the next monetization window rather than a theatrical growth story.
The plot keeps the franchise machinery in place: Vijay Salgaonkar’s alibis face fresh pressure from Meera Deshmukh and a new Crime Branch officer. That built-in recognition matters for streaming marketing, but theatrical momentum will not carry the next phase on its own.
Media planners and entertainment marketers should read the curve as a case study in box office legs: how long a title holds earning power after its opening. Strong front-loading followed by steep week-on-week drops means the theatrical conversation is closing while the streaming and satellite conversation is opening.
What to watch next
The immediate marker is Rs 590 cr worldwide. After that, official studio updates and final international market settlements may move the total modestly. The more useful signal will be how quickly Drishyam 3 moves to digital platforms and how the home-viewing window is positioned.
