Netflix has put a date on its next young-adult original. Sunshine Girls will premiere on December 15, 2026, fronted by three leads who are each entering the Netflix ecosystem for the first time.
Created and produced by Rob Fishman and Nuria Anson, produced by Brat TV — a division of ZATV — and directed by Allex Tarr, the series has Elisabeth Rogge, Mary Lambert and Gavin Laing attached as writers.
The premise
Netflix’s synopsis calls Valley Hills a “perfectly nice California suburb” — unless you are Olivia. The character, played by Alma Marian, leaves New York after her parents separate and becomes the new kid at Valley High. There she meets Taylor, a horse girl played by Isabella Fowler, and Riley, an influencer played by Erin Rose Park.
The logline frames freshman year as a stretch of missteps, early romance and family friction, with the three unlikely friends finding their place.
What is confirmed
- Premiere date: December 15, 2026.
- Lead cast: Alma Marian as Olivia, Erin Rose Park as Riley, Isabella Fowler as Taylor.
- Production: Brat TV, a division of ZATV.
- Marketing: no teaser or official trailer has been released.
Why the cast list matters
All three leads make their Netflix debut; for Park, the series marks an onscreen debut. The supporting ensemble pairs regular screen actors with a long list of digital creators, including Déjà Clark, PresLee Faith, Kaido Roberts, Lisi German and Kheris Rogers. That structure leaves Netflix with built-in audience pathways: each creator arrives with a following, which can matter in a long pre-launch window.
For media planners and streaming marketers, the December date is the hard number. The only visible marketing asset right now is talent, so early awareness estimates should start with the cast’s social footprint rather than waiting for a trailer.
Do track the creator cast’s overlap with the YA audience, and benchmark the release against comparable Netflix YA titles. Don’t read the absence of a teaser as quiet marketing; the talent announcement is the campaign’s opening move.
