Halloween weekend turned into a holdover race. According to industry estimates reported by TheWrap, A24’s ‘You Can See Everything’ moved into the No. 1 spot for the first time, landing an estimated $10.6 million in its third frame. Warner Bros./DC Studios’ ‘Clayface’ sat just behind at $10.2 million.
The narrow gap matters because both titles are doing different jobs. ‘You Can See Everything’ slipped 43% from its $19.5 million second weekend and has now earned roughly $63 million in North America. That makes it the second-highest grossing film of October behind Amazon MGM’s ‘Verity’, even as bigger titles such as ‘Street Fighter’ and ‘Other Mommy’ underdeliver.
Clayface’s drop is only half the story
‘Clayface’ fell 57% from its opening weekend, a steep step down for a comic-book title. But its 10-day domestic total is $44 million against a reported $40 million budget. It will not reach $241 million to match Warner’s top 2026 release ‘Wuthering Heights’, yet the budget reality is what counts: it can still be one of the studio’s more profitable releases in its final year as a standalone studio.
The top five, by the numbers
- You Can See Everything: $10.6M third weekend; $63M domestic cume
- Clayface: $10.2M second weekend; $44M 10-day total
- Wildwood: $6.8M second weekend; $25M 10-day total
- Wicker: $4.1M second weekend; $13.2M 10-day total
- Street Fighter: $3.5M third weekend; $53M domestic total
Fathom/Laika’s ‘Wildwood’ is running ahead of DreamWorks’ ‘Forgotten Island’, which reached $23.6 million over 10 days. Black Bear’s ‘Wicker’ is the weekend’s clear low-budget win: it has grossed $13.2 million in 10 days against a $2.5 million Sundance acquisition price.
Read the hold, not just the ranking
For entertainment marketers and film-business readers, the actionable signal is in the ratio. A No. 1 can still be a modest earner, and a steep hold can still sit on a profitable budget. The correct comparison is budget-to-cume and week-over-week hold, not the Sunday headline alone.
That is the Halloween box office story beneath the photo finish: a documentary outperforming a DC title on rank, while the more durable profit signals come from controlled costs and low acquisition prices.
