Jailer 2 is now within range of the Rs 800 crore worldwide mark after 13 days. The film added Rs 7.5 crore net in India on Day 13 across 10,664 shows, taking its worldwide gross to Rs 744 crore, per Sacnilk.
The language mix on Day 13
The Day 13 India net total came from clearly separated language versions:
- Tamil: Rs 4.15 crore from 4,620 shows
- Telugu: Rs 1.65 crore from 1,773 shows
- Hindi: Rs 1.45 crore from 4,060 shows
- Kannada: Rs 25 lakh from 211 shows
India net now stands at Rs 415.65 crore, with domestic gross at Rs 486.5 crore. Overseas gross is Rs 257.5 crore after adding Rs 2 crore on Day 13.
The Rs 800 crore math
The film needs Rs 56 crore more in worldwide gross to reach the Rs 800 crore line. That is no longer a question of another big opening weekend; it depends on how long the current version holds across Tamil, Telugu and Hindi circuits.
Why the split matters for screen professionals
Jailer 2 is not behaving like a single-language hit. The Tamil version led Day 13 with Rs 4.15 crore net, but the Hindi version ran 4,060 shows and collected Rs 1.45 crore, a meaningful dubbed-market tail. Media planners and buyers should read this as a multilingual release, not one box-office monolith.
Praise from peers underlines the event value. Kamal Haasan, actor-producer-parliamentarian, congratulated Rajinikanth, director Nelson, composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sun Pictures. Nelson responded, Coming from a legend like you, it means a lot!
Director Lingusamy said Rajinikanth’s screen aura has not been used this well since Baadsha.
What to watch next
Do not treat India net as worldwide gross; they are different measures. Track language-level show counts and week-three drops before making an Rs 800 crore call. For film marketers, the real signal is whether the Tamil core holds while the Hindi tail keeps adding small but steady numbers.
