Nayyi Navelli week one: Rs 22.15 cr India net

Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli has closed its first week in cinemas with Rs 22.15 crore in India net collections. After seven days, the film’s worldwide gross stands at Rs 29.06 crore, according to Sacnilk data cited by The Times of India.

Day seven in numbers

Thursday brought Rs 1.50 crore from 4,539 shows — a 25% fall from Wednesday’s Rs 2 crore. The Hindi 2D version recorded overall occupancy of 9.92%. Morning shows were weakest at 5.54%, while night shows ended at 12.54%.

The day added 87,366 footfalls, pushing the cumulative count to 1,098,344. Average collection per show was Rs 3,305.

The first-week curve

  • Friday: Rs 3.25 cr from 6,281 shows (11% occupancy)
  • Saturday: Rs 4 cr from 5,945 shows (14%)
  • Sunday: Rs 4.40 cr from 5,546 shows (17%)
  • Monday: Rs 2.65 cr from 4,804 shows (14%)
  • Tuesday: Rs 4.35 cr from 4,835 shows (21%)
  • Wednesday: Rs 2 cr from 4,737 shows (12%)
  • Thursday: Rs 1.50 cr from 4,539 shows (9.92%)

Sunday remained the film’s biggest single day by collection, but Tuesday delivered the highest occupancy of the week at 21%. That midweek jump did not hold: Wednesday halved the Tuesday number and Thursday slipped further.

What the trend signals

For exhibitors and distributors, the more important line is show count. Nayyi Navelli opened on 6,281 shows and was down to 4,539 by Thursday — a reduction of roughly 28%. Collections are falling faster than the show count, which is why per-show average matters here: at Rs 3,305, the film is not filling the capacity it still has.

For media planners tracking theatrical titles, this is a useful pattern to benchmark. A sub-10% Thursday occupancy after a strong Sunday suggests the film is behaving like a weekend-led title rather than one with weekday legs. That will guide how aggressively streaming platforms and television buyers approach the post-theatrical window, and how much marketing support the producers put behind week two.

What to watch next

The second-week hold will be the real test. If show counts drop below the 4,539 level and per-show average does not improve, the film’s lifetime India net is likely to settle modestly. If it retains screens in key multiplexes and gets a bump on the next weekend, the Rs 22.15 cr first week can still be built upon. The producer and distributor have not released official final figures yet, and these industry estimates may move as more data is reported.
