Hanuman Ansh has pushed past the Rs 350 crore worldwide mark on Day 46, reaching Rs 352.30 crore in gross box office. The Vishal Chaturvedi-directed film added Rs 4 crore nett in India and Rs 50 lakh from overseas on Monday, September 21, after a strong seventh weekend. The India nett total now stands at Rs 275.88 crore, with India gross at Rs 325.80 crore and overseas gross at Rs 26.50 crore.
The milestone came with a sharp weekday correction. Monday’s India nett fell 70.9 per cent from Sunday’s Rs 13.75 crore. The film played across 7,629 shows, but occupancy dropped to 15 per cent, from 40 per cent on Sunday. Morning shows were weakest at 9 per cent, improving to 15.23 per cent in the afternoon and 16.38 per cent in the evening.
Weekend strength, then the expected fall
Seventh weekend numbers showed the film’s staying power. It collected Rs 5 crore on Friday, Rs 9.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 13.75 crore on Sunday, for a three-day India nett total of Rs 28.50 crore. The Saturday-to-Sunday jump of about 41 per cent indicated weekend family and urban audiences continued to turn up.
A Monday drop of this scale is normal after a large Sunday. The key number for distributors is not the percentage fall alone but the absolute hold. Rs 4 crore on a seventh Monday against Rs 5 crore on the preceding Friday suggests the film is not collapsing; it is settling into a weekday floor after a front-loaded holiday stretch.
How the run has built
The weekly India nett trajectory shows why this run is being tracked by trade planners:
- Week 1: Rs 1.08 crore
- Week 2: Rs 40 lakh
- Week 3: Rs 10.40 crore
- Week 4: Rs 61 crore
- Week 5: Rs 90.25 crore
- Week 6: Rs 80.25 crore
After a slow start, the film accelerated sharply from Week 4, a pattern usually driven by word of mouth and audience recommendation rather than opening-day marketing alone. That has implications for how marketers allocate paid media late in a theatrical run: a film with this kind of tail can justify a longer window of owned and earned media support.
For the exhibition sector, the show count of 7,629 is itself notable at this stage. Many films have lost screens by Week 7; Hanuman Ansh is still playing in a wide release footprint. That suggests multiplex and single-screen operators see enough demand to keep programming it, which can feed the weekday collection floor.
What to watch
For media planners and distribution teams, the remaining questions are the weekday trend through the rest of Week 7 and the holdover screen count. With 7,629 shows still committed on Monday, Hanuman Ansh retains significant exhibition support. The film’s India gross share is about 92.5 per cent of worldwide gross, which means most of the upside lies in domestic holds rather than overseas expansion.
The film is based on Divine Detour: That Changed My Life, inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba, and stars Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand. It released on August 7. The current phase will test how much more it can add before the release calendar shifts attention.
