Rings of Power S3 trailer sets Nov 11 premiere

Prime Video has put a date on its biggest fantasy swing. The streamer released the official Season 3 trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and confirmed that new episodes will begin on November 11, 2026. The footage centres on the forging of the One Ring, the object that would let Sauron dominate Middle-earth.

The trailer frames the season as the moment several long-building conflicts collide. In a voiceover, Galadriel summarises the build as: All of it has come to this. The preview moves across Elven front lines, the Dwarven halls of Khazad-dûm, a Númenor edging toward civil war, and Gandalf operating in Rhûn. It also introduces the Nazgnagôl, Sauron’s black-armoured Ring-servants.

What the season is building toward

The new season picks up five years after the fall of Eregion. By that point Sauron’s armies have taken large parts of Middle-earth, leaving only isolated strongholds. The Dwarves remain inside Khazad-dûm, while Lindon and Rivendell are protected by the Three Rings. Sauron is now working from Barad-dûr in Mordor, looking to bring his remaining enemies under control.

The release plan is the real story for marketers

Prime Video is not dropping the season all at once. The eight-episode run is split into three weekly tranches:

  • November 11: first four episodes
  • November 18: episodes 305 and 306
  • November 25: final two episodes

For media planners, this makes the season a three-week tentpole, not a one-day spike. It gives sponsors, social teams and tune-in campaigns multiple peaks to work with and keeps the title in conversation across a billing cycle.

Why this matters for the streaming slate

The series remains one of Prime Video’s global flagship titles, with the first two seasons, 16 episodes in total, available in more than 240 countries and territories. A high-visibility fantasy return late in the year gives the platform a durable acquisition and engagement asset heading into the holiday quarter. The batch release lets Prime Video stretch that asset instead of burning it in a single weekend.

For brands, the central image of the One Ring also gives a clean creative hook. A season built around a single object of power lets campaign creative stay focused while the release cadence changes. Teams can use the three dates as separate beats for sponsorships, watch parties, creator briefs and retention offers, instead of spending everything on November 11.
